Merry Blogmas!

We are back with the final day for our chorus of bloggers, singing our own version of “12 Days of Christmas.” Check out our previous days, too, if you’re just joining us, and enjoy the 364 gifts we’ve given!

Thanks to OverthinkerY, LightningEllen, The Gaming DiariesShoot the Rookie, and Later Levels for striking the harp and joining the chorus!

And now, without further ado…

(To the tune of “12 Days of Christmas”):

On the twelfth day of Blogmas, the gamers said to me:

What’s the best reason to play video games?

<takes a deep breath before continuing to sing>

(And tell us 2 games you’d fix3 good things to know4 dramatic moments5 replay gems, 6 resolutions7 favorite posts, 8 beloved characters9 games to play, 10 reasons you’d play, 11 games you love, and don’t forget to link to gaming memories!)

The best reason to play games? That one’s easy.

Play games because you love them.

No, really. Why do any hobby? Because you love it. The same goes for games. Why do it? Because one day, you decided to try a game, and you had fun. Or the characters moved you. Or it made you laughed. Or you walked away a little happier than you had been before. Or you made some memories. Or you wanted to go back and play again.

Play games because you love them. Play games because they move you. Play games because they are fun. Play games because one day you won’t be able to any more. Play games because here, and now, you want to.

Play games because they matter.

Play games because they are fun.

Play games because you love them.

Why play games at all? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you soon!

  1. I play games for so many reasons that it may change by the day. For example, this morning I was playing a puzzle game. Why? Because I was drinking tea and needed something that I could do completely one-handed for 45 minutes while I drank it.

    1. That’s true. I know I’ve talked about using games for reaching an equilibrium again, and your comment speaks to that. It depends on the situation and what you need in that moment! Do you have a go-to puzzle game, or puzzle type?

      1. I’ve been pretty obsessed with Coloring Pixels lately since it’s free, but in general, any puzzle game that involves imagery like Picross or literal put-together puzzles are usually my preferred go-tos.

  2. Play games because you want to. It’s probably the best advice you could give any gamer!

  3. Sounds like solid game playing reasoning to me 🙂

Thanks for creating this collaboration! I had a blast reading everyone’s posts and writing my own. Genius idea, my friend!

    1. Thanks. I think it’s a good one for everyone to always remember 🙂

I’m so glad you participated (even if I’m super behind on reading)! It’s been a fantastic chorus of bloggers, no? 😛
