Hi guys,
As some of you may know, I wrote a post recently about how my thesis had won and I was stepping back a bit. Unfortunately that hasn’t changed, but I have a little better idea of how things are going to look for the short-term future, moving forward.
The Video Game Challenge will continue, as I did a bunch of those and scheduled them, so they’ll keep going up every week.
I’ve decided to throw caution to the winds and try to keep pushing through with the Wednesday feature articles, mostly because I’m so happy AmbiGaming has now had two months in a row with well over 1,000 views and I know how sad I’ll be to see those numbers go down when I’m not in the throes of academia anymore. What can I say? I was inspired by the fantastic and optimistic interview conducted by The Well-Red Mage. The plan is to keep them coming, of course, but whether I will have time remains to be seen. So if I disappear for a few weeks, I’m still sitting behind my computer, but I’m writing about music and emotion regulation instead of video games.
And finally, and perhaps most disappointingly (to me), I will be suspending the Let’s Plays until an undetermined time. With my current living situation, there isn’t a lot of “quiet” around here until very late at night. I mentioned maybe having time during the day where, you know, I could record, and… well I didn’t expect it to be met with enthusiasm, but it wasn’t met with any support either. So as much as I love you guys and have been having fun putting the videos together, I really don’t want to keep recording at 2:00am like I’ve been doing. I have a few more Andromeda videos that will go up, and then I will be bowing out of YouTube, at least until my living situation changes… I’ll reassess at that time. And after all that work, too… But I can say I posted videos on YouTube, and that’s what’s important! (I’ll still post here about my set-up at some point, since I did promise to do that that a while ago!)
So… March came in like an N7 operative and went out like a nerdy communication specialist, but that means… erm… spring is coming? I don’t know where I was expecting that analogy to go. If you can think of a better way to end it, let me know in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by (and for understanding), and I’ll see you soon!
~ Athena
