‘Twas the Day After Christmas

‘Twas the day after Christmas,
And all through the house,
All the players were happy
Nestled snug on the couch
Showing off shiny new games without care
Thankful that Santa had come by this year.

The discs were soon nestled inside the consoles
Ready for the stories on them to be told.
And soon, to our wondering eyes did appear
Our brandy-new games, graphics crisp and so clear,
When out of the speaker arose such a clatter
We jumped in our seats. Just what was the matter?

Time to go save the world, find the princess, and know
That we’d level our characters up as we go
Traveling across the tall mountains and deep underground
Until our final objectives were successfully found.

We spoke not a word, but went straight to our work
Memorizing powers, controls, and our new game’s quirks
So to beat the next boss and to pass the next level,
And unlock new achievements in which we could revel.

But before the end credits, I’d like to be frank
And take half a moment to stop and give thanks
For the games that we’ve played and the ones that will come,
The ones that we’ve lost and the ones that we’ve won.

There’s one final thing I’ll put up on your HUD:
Have fun playing games with the ones that you love!

Merry Christmas!

  1. Best after Christmas poem ever! I hope you had a Merry one.

Oh and why does everyone keep talking about cookies!? *cries over an empty cookie jar* 🙂

    1. Thank you so much!
And yes! She’s my favorite companion character, no doubt about it, and part of me wishes she’d come back. (And part of me knows that it would probably be poorly done if she *was* brought back haha)

        1. I’ve only recently invested in a PS4, and haven’t yet acquired a WiiU, so I’m waiting to see what the actual game line-up is for the Switch before jumping on board. But yes, eventually I will be playing it, on one console or another! My friend BadgersAndBowties just posted on this page about her top 5 anticipated games for 2017, and I think it made the list for her, too 🙂
